Hardy Interactive (WHardy) today launched a new website for the Vermont Student Assistance Corporation (VSAC) at www.StartWhereYouAreVtPro.org. This new site, produced under leading northeast advertising agency Kelliher Samets Volk (KSV) with funding from the Department of Labor, Employment & Training Administration, was built to serve as a resource center for the state's educators and counselors, as well as community partners, in their efforts to provide help to students, parents and adults in career planning and development. It brings more than 500 unique resources together where specific professional types can find the information that will best assist them. At the core of this site is a robust content management system (CMS) from which VSAC staff can administrate core areas of content, including resources and the governing standards that define them. On the front side of "Start Where You Are VT Professional", visitors can drill down to find resources by user type, grade level, categories/sub-categories, subjects, topics and career clusters, as well as key words and phrases. Resources and searches alike can be added to a registered user's "file drawer", along with notes. The site is programmed for optimal usability, yet employs a wide array of cutting-edge JavaScript features. VSAC was founded in 1965 as a public non-profit agency to help Vermonters in pursuing college and other post-secondary training. They provide grants, loans, scholarships, career & education planning, and general information about how students and their families can get the education they desire. Their mission is to ensure that all Vermonters have the necessary financial and information resources to pursue their education goals beyond high school. KSV was founded in 1977 and today has offices in New York, Boston and Burlington. Since June 2007, WHardy has regularly provided them with ColdFusion, JavaScript, PHP, X/HTML, CSS and ActionScript programming, as well as database development, Flash animation, graphic design, hosting, strategic consultation and other services, to-date totaling more than 100 projects. Highlights include projects for the Stowe mountain resort, the Vermont Electric Power Company, the Vermont Energy Investment Corporation and Schlesinger Associates. W.
