W. Hardy Partners with Sun Microsystems on the Sun Java System Portal Server
SAN FRANCISCO, CA [January 4, 2008] – W. Hardy Interactive, Inc. today announced the establishment of a new partnership with Sun Microsystems (NASDAQ: SUNW) to build and install a portal application using the powerful Sun Java System Portal Server. This software provides for deployment of eCommerce-enabled portals with features including membership management, personalization, aggregation, security, integration, search services and more. Walter Hardy, President and founder of W. Hardy Interactive, will in addition be contributing a series of articles to help developers build, install and serve custom portal applications.
W. Hardy is also building and managing an enterprise hosting environment to power the Sun Java System Portal Server that is built on Sun SPARC Enterprise servers. This system will allow for a membership base of several million users. An application based on OpenPortal, the open-source version of the Sun Java System Portal Server, is also being built.
Drawing upon several years of experience in configuring, hosting and managing the Sun Java Collaboration System (which is accessed through the NetBeans open-source integrated development environment), W. Hardy Interactive is able to apply its expertise in Sun products-including Sun Access Manager, Sun Directory Server, Solaris and the Sun Java System Web Server-to the installation and configuration of Sun Java System Portal Server.
